As a landlord there are certain tenancy laws that you need to be aware of and ensure are in place by the set deadlines.

Smoke Alarms
Landlords are responsible for installing the recommended life-long photoelectric type make smoke alarms and will need to be in working order prior to to the start od a tenancy. Tenants will be responsible to replace expired batteries and inform the landlord / Property Manager of any problems with the snake alarm.
Requirements: a minimum of 1 working smoke alarm within 3 meters of each bedroom door or every room where a person sleeps and 1 smoke alarm in the lounge / dining areas. In a multi storey home there must be a smoke alarm on each level. Effective by July 2016
